Today was our first day of freedom after school let out yesterday, and when we stepped outside this morning the air was cool and the sun was sunny, perfect for our tediously-planned hat post to display Mayzie's rather impressive hat collection. We eagerly rushed out to the tracks and Dayzie got the bright idea to incorporate this pink trench coat, a la Catherine Deneuve in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Of course, when we got to the tracks and began setting up the air immediately turned scalding hot and Mayzie found out that the camera battery was low. These pictures are proof of our undying belief that the trench coat just absolutely needed to be worn in our shoot in order for the hats to not look too costume-y, even in the face of a possible heat stroke. Luckily, not one train went by as we were shooting. A heat stroke and death by train might've been too much to handle on a lazy Friday.
